The issue of officials' income declarations is being considered in Azerbaijan, Head of the Anti-Corruption Agency under the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev said on Friday.
“We want to develop a possible perfect mechanism for issuing the income declarations. This matter will be resolved in the near future,” he added.
 
The Azerbaijani legislation in the fight against corruption stipulates tough penalties. "Our legislation is in line with the European standards. Effective execution of the law depends on us," he said.

He said the citizens themselves give rise to corruption; instead of patiently waiting for the solution of their problems, they want to solve their problems quickly through bribes. A number of such cases were recorded and a lot of officers were brought to responsibility in this regard.  “The fights against corruption in Azerbaijan are not a temporary campaign, but a systematic work,” he said.
